When to get an oil change

Service intervals depend on the kind of vehicle. Most vehicles usually require an oil change around 6,000-10,000 miles, however, check your owners manual or ask us for specifics on your vehicle. It is recommended that work trucks or trucks that are used under heavy load such as towing or regular driving on mountain passes should have an oil change done more often (such as around every 3,000 miles). 

Modern vehicles have an 'oil life' gauge on the driver display between the odometer and rev counter. When the oil life gauge displays 20% or less oil life left, it is time for an oil change. 

As an example;

RAM 1500: not to exceed 10,000 miles, 12 months or 350 hours of engine/idle run time between oil changes.

RAM 2500 -3500: not to exceed 8,000 miles, 12 months or 350 hours of engine or idle time (whichever comes first) between oil changes.
